Back to You Hurley Brothers Book 3 edition by Lauren Dane Literature Fiction eBooks

I always enjoy a story about a second chance at love and so far I've loved each new installment in the Hurley Brothers series. That being said after completing Back to You I was left feeling that the stories were somehow out of sequence a d that perhaps Ezra's story should have been the last one. While reading about how Vaughan fought to get back his one true love, learned to be more than a part time parent and finally faced the fury that is a Sharon Hurley when she's really angry and terribly disappointed one thing was missing, sympathy. Vaughan, like his brother Paddy, was the cause of the demise of his relationship with his wife Kelly. It was Vaughan who didn't realize he wanted her back until she was engaged to someone else. In both Paddy and Ezra's stories they referred to Vaughan's past failings, how the divorce had been his fault and how he had never explained how it was all his fault to his parents. Considering everything you hear about rock star lifestyles what happened seemed minor, his taunting her with "Get a divorce if you're not happy" seemed childish and petty and I really didn't care about him. Kelly on the other hand I did care about and I wanted her to have her HEA and if she wanted him I wanted her to have him, but more than that I wanted him to be worthy of her. All in all Back to You was an enjoyable read and I'm going to miss the Hurley Brothers and I wish them well.

Back to You Hurley Brothers Book 3 edition by Lauren Dane Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I love Lauren Dane books and this one is no exception. I loved how strong Kelly was and how Vaughn grew up. He yearned to be a different man and strove to do it. He made so many beautiful actions to win his family back. I loved their story from start to finish. And then all the acceptances, apologies, and makeup with his family - truly touching!
I enjoyed the first 2 books in this series but it took me awhile to get to this book. The main reason I wanted to read it was to know more about Ezra and Tuesday but then I ended up wrapped up in the story of Vaughn and Kelly. They were married 8 years ago and it's not until Kelly gets engaged Vaughn to realizes he wasn't over her. This story was sweet, sarcastic with some great lines, funny and sexy. Ms Dane knows how to write a sex scene but this book is more than that. It's about being deserving of getting a second chance. Who doesn't love that!?
Back to You is a stellar book that deals with tough issues like, betrayal, second chances and redemption.
Lauren Dane has masterfully written the characters of Vaughn and Kelly with real authenticity. They are multidimensional - at any given time they can be strong, grieving, hopeful, flawed, tender, sexy and/or vulnerability and because of this it's easy to become invested in them.
Lauren Dane also knows how to bring the heat, and even though Vaughn and Kelly have been married before, even though they have kids and problems that seem insurmountable they know how to bring it in the bedroom.
Back to You is another fabulous book by Lauren Dane.
Seriously, can she even write a bad book?
So touching and tender and heartfelt and HOT. A story of second chances and taking chances and learning to trust loving someone again. Vaughan Hurley allowed his beautiful Kelly a nd their girls to slip away because he was too immature, too much the hot rock god to truly understand what he had. He's finally grown up enough to try to get her to trust him and let him back into their family. Read about the other brothers when you finish this one. Great reads.
Vaughn and Kelly married young and are the divorced parents of two girls. Vaughn has finally matured to the point that he thinks he is ready to be a full-time father and partner.

Kelly was ready to move on, but let him move into the guest room to spend more time while their older daughter recovered from surgery.

Is she ready for more from him? Will the wonderful Hurley family welcome her this time?

I received a free paperback copy through Goodreads Giveaways and bought the e-book from along with the other two books of the series!
I have to say as jerky as he was in the past, Vaughan was my favorite Hurley. I was sooooooooo disappointed in Sharon. A young girl, scared pregnant and her son's wife and she ostracized her without giving her a chance. That had zero to do with Vaughan's lack of honesty. That was ALL Sharon. Being a true bully to someone her son claimed to love. Not only was it very mean to Kelly but Totally disrespectful to Vaughan. The son she claimed to love so much. And when he came to talk to her she blamed it completely on him when her horrible behavior started long before the divorce. I hate I it that I lost all respect for a character I previously really liked. But...a bully who refuses to take responsibility for her own actions. Yuck!
Great end to the series. Hopefully, this is not the last we see if the Hurley brothers. I want to know how Paddy and Ezra's relationship s progress. Kelly is an awesome mom who had to deal with a lot. When she told Vaughan that he didn't fight for their family, was so powerful. That's how I feel about love, fight for me and fight for us. Her words were eloquent and heartfelt. Vaughan finally realized what he had and how hard Kelly worked to raise their children. I loved when Stacy said don't give him credit for what he is supposed to do.
This is the most realistic second chance love story with kids that I have read. It was raw and emotional with all the carp that you feel when dealing with someone you loved. You want to forgive but can't always forget and you want to lash out and hurt them like they hurt you.

An epilogue wrapping up all of the brothers would have been the icing on the cake. Hint hint maybe a novella?
